Opening Night

So, it's the NBA off-season. An interesting time to start a blog about the Utah Jazz, no?
But I'm not too worried. Because there are Jazz players in the Olympics, pre-season games, trades, and lots of other awesome things about the Jazz!

So, first is the Olympics. Deron Williams has been tearin' it up, in the minutes he gets to play. Carlos Boozer hasn't had quite the impact on the games as D-Will, but he's putting a few points on the board for the team. In Wednesday's game against Australia, Williams played 19 minutes and scored 10 points, including a buzzer-beating three-pointer at the close of the first half, giving the United States the largest lead of the game. Booz threw four points onto the scoreboard in the final minutes, closing the game at 116-85. Okay, so I know the Olympics are all about national pride, but seriously? Maybe this will give the Jazz some much-needed cred in the NBA!
Here's hoping.

Okay, so also the Jazz traded Jason Hart. I have to say, I'm not terribly broken-hearted about this trade. Hart was all right in the 2006-2007 season, but Ronnie P showed him up hardcore last year. A solid backup guard is what the Jazz needed, and Price is definitely filling that role better than Hart ever did. So, no sadness there. And as for Kosta Koufus? Seems pretty decent, but I'm going to have to predict one thing: Utah Flash.
