Every jazz fan that I have come across seems to think that the jazz are near the top of the western conference. The past two years we have been the 4th seed in the playoffs because we have won our division, but we end up taking the 5th seed because of our record. The jazz have been lucky over those two years they have come up against the rockets who cannot seem to win a series with their present players. The jazz did not really better themselves over the summer compared to other teams in the west, all they have done is added a serviceable point guard, they added Kostas Koufos who was extremely disappointing in the Rocky Mountain Review and a couple guys they wont see for a few years. In a nut shell the jazz have stayed the same while the Rockets have taken a chance on Ron Artest, the Spurs have picked up Roger Mason Jr. and re-signed Kurt Thomas. The Hornets have upgraded their bench with James Posey, the Lakers are already have proven to better in the playoffs last year and the Trailblazers are getting better. What does it all mean? The jazz with their present roster are no better then fourth place and as they have proven in previous years they are no better then fifth place. |
